Foil heaters made of polyimide, also called Kapton™ heaters, are very thin, light and flexible heaters. The polyimide heater has a wide temperature range from -40°C to +200°C and can be installed in outdoor climates. These foil heaters can be exposed for continuous vibration and are resistant to among others fungus, chemicals and solvents.
The material polyimide (Kapton™) has a very good insulation capability and high power density which gives a very good heat distribution. The foil heater has a small thermal mass and can be placed on flat and curved surfaces.
This heating technology is being used in laboratory and research equipment, medical instruments, sterilizers, military equipment, photo-technical equipment, displays etc.
IHP has the possibility to mount temperature control components such as sensors, thermocouples, thermostats and fuses. We can also deliver complete control systems and install them at our customers sites.
